Main Ingredients
- ¼ cup orange liqueur
- ¼ cup fresh lime juice from about 2 limes
- ½ cup reposado tequila
- ¼ cup agave nectar
- 2 to 3 cup ice
- 1 tbsp coarse salt for the rims, optional
- 4 lime wedges for garnish
Cooking
Combine. Pour the liqueur, lime juice, tequila, and agave into a blender and add 2 cups ice.
Blend. Blend on high for 30 to 45 seconds until smooth and slushy.
Adjust. Add 1/2 cup more ice if thin or a splash of lime juice if thick, then blend for 10 seconds.
Pour. Pour into chilled glasses, rim with salt if desired, and garnish with lime wedges.
Substitutions: Use blanco tequila, triple sec, or light agave in the same amounts. Replace the tequila and liqueur with 1/2 cup limeade and 1/4 cup sparkling water for a drink without alcohol.
Tips: Do not drive after drinking alcohol. Add ice gradually for the right thickness.
Storage: Freeze leftovers in an airtight container for up to 1 week and blend again with a splash of lime juice.
