Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Meat thermometer

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 salmon fillets about 6 oz each, fresh or thawed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice optional
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning optional

Instructions

Cooking

  • Dry the fillets. Pat the salmon dry with paper towels so the surface can brown.
  • Season. Rub the olive oil over the tops, then sprinkle with salt, pepper, and Cajun seasoning if using.
  • Preheat. Heat the air fryer to 400 F for 3 minutes.
  • Cook. Place the fillets skin side down in the basket without touching and cook 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Check. The salmon is done at 145 F and flakes easily with a fork. Cook 1 to 2 minutes more if needed.
  • Rest and serve. Rest 2 minutes, squeeze the lemon juice over the top, and serve with vegetables, rice, or a salad.

Notes

Substitutions: Use lemon pepper, garlic powder, or dill in place of Cajun seasoning.
Tips: Do not overcrowd the basket, and use parchment with holes for easier cleanup.
Storage: Refrigerate cooked salmon within 2 hours for up to 3 days and reheat gently to 165 F.
Nutrition does not include the optional sides.
