  • 2 cups apple pie filling or cooked cinnamon apples Chop apples into smaller pieces if using pie filling.
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 115 grams cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

To Serve

  • Honey, for drizzling
  • Caramel sauce, for drizzling
  • Whipped cream, for serving

Instructions

Preparation

  • Combine cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in a bowl. Beat until a smooth, creamy mixture forms.
  • If desired, evenly spread a thin layer of the cream filling onto each tortilla.
  • Stir together apple pie filling with cinnamon, brown sugar, and nutmeg until well combined.

Cooking

  • Spoon the apple mixture over half of each tortilla. Fold tortillas in half to form a crescent shape.
  • Melt butter in a large nonstick pan over medium heat. Place quesadillas in the pan and cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side, until golden and crisp.
  • Allow quesadillas to cool briefly. Slice into wedges and serve warm. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with honey, caramel, or add whipped cream as desired.

Notes

To store leftovers, keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. For extra creamy filling, add a bit of sour cream to the cream cheese mixture.
