- 3 ripe Hass avocados
- ½ cup sweet onion diced
- ½ cup Roma tomatoes diced
- 2-3 tbsp fresh cilantro chopped
- 1 lime about 1 tablespoon juice
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- ½ jalapeno seeded and diced, optional
- ¼ tsp salt plus more to taste
- ¼ tsp ground cumin
- 1 pinch black pepper to taste

Cooking
Scoop. Halve and pit the avocados and scoop the flesh into a bowl or molcajete.
Mash. Add the salt and mash until the guacamole is as smooth or chunky as you like.
Combine. Stir in the onion, tomato, cilantro, lime juice, garlic, jalapeno, cumin, and pepper.
Adjust. Taste and add more lime, salt, or cayenne as needed.
Serve. Serve right away, or cover and chill briefly.
Substitutions: Yellow onion works if you rinse it first. Add diced mango or pineapple for a sweet twist.
Tips: Salt the avocado first, mash to your preferred texture, and seed the tomatoes.
Storage: Press plastic wrap onto the surface and refrigerate for 1 to 2 days.
