Ingredients
  

Burger Patties

  • 680 grams ground beef Use lean ground beef for better texture.
  • 5 milliliters garlic powder
  • 2.5 milliliters onion powder
  • to taste salt
  • to taste freshly ground black pepper

Burger Assembly

  • 355 milliliters seasoned meat sauce Heat until warm before assembling.
  • 240 milliliters ricotta-style cheese
  • 240 milliliters shredded mozzarella-style cheese Reserve some for topping.
  • 8 to 10 slices streaky bacon, cooked until crisp Cook bacon until crispy for best texture.
  • 4 pieces burger buns, split and toasted Use your favorite type of burger bun.
  • butter or neutral cooking oil for pan Use just enough for cooking the patties.

Optional Garnishes

  • as desired crisp lettuce leaves For serving.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Combine ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in a mixing bowl. Mix gently until just incorporated to maintain juiciness. Shape the mixture into four thick, evenly sized burger patties.

Cooking

  • Preheat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Add a small amount of butter or oil. Sear the burger patties for 4–5 minutes per side until cooked through and caramelized. Transfer to a plate and let rest.
  • Gently heat the seasoned meat sauce in a saucepan until hot. In a separate bowl, mix the ricotta-style cheese with half the shredded mozzarella.

Assembly

  • Set a burger patty on the lower half of each toasted bun. Top with a spoonful of meat sauce, a generous layer of the ricotta-mozzarella mixture, and crisp bacon slices. Spoon over a little more meat sauce if desired.
  • Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella on top of each assembled burger. Cover loosely and warm over low heat for 1–2 minutes until the cheese is melted. Crown with the top bun and serve immediately.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or skillet for best results.
