  • 1 package chocolate cake mix Follow package instructions for preparation

For the cheesecake filling

  • 1 package cream cheese, softened Make sure it is at room temperature for easy mixing
  • 1 cup Baileys Irish Cream For a non-alcoholic version, use chocolate syrup instead
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

For layering

  • 1 container whipped topping Can substitute with homemade whipped cream
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder For sprinkling on top

Preparation

  • Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to package instructions. Once baked, let it cool completely.
  • In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with the powdered sugar and Baileys Irish Cream until smooth and creamy.

Assembly

  • In a trifle dish, layer the chocolate cake pieces, followed by the cream cheese mixture, whipped topping, chocolate chips, and a sprinkle of cocoa powder.
  • Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of whipped topping on top.

Chill

  • Chill in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Cover with plastic wrap or a lid to keep it fresh. Feel free to add nuts or additional toppings for extra crunch.
