  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon Salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 3 medium Mashed overripe bananas Use bananas with brown spots for the best flavor.
  • ½ cup Vegetable oil or applesauce Oil adds moisture; applesauce can be used for a healthier option.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Optional Add-ins

  • ½ cup Cocoa powder or chocolate chips Add for a chocolatey twist.
  • ½ cup Chopped nuts Such as walnuts or pecans.
  • 1 cup Gluten-free flour blend For gluten-free version.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch baking pan.
  • In the greased pan, mix together the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Make wells in the dry mixture and add the wet ingredients: mashed bananas, oil or applesauce, and vanilla extract.
  • Mix everything together until well combined and smooth.

Baking

  • Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes.
  • Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick in the center; if it comes out clean, the cake is ready.

Notes

Store unfrosted cake at room temperature for up to 3 days in an airtight container, or refrigerate frosted cake for up to 6 days.
