Ingredients
  

For the Marinade

  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional) for sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • ¼ cup yogurt (optional) for tenderness

For the Kebabs

  • 1.5 pounds beef sirloin or ribeye, cut into 1.5-inch cubes Trim excess fat but retain some for juiciness

Instructions
 

Marinating the Beef

  • In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, paprika, cumin, black pepper, honey, oregano, and yogurt. Stir well.
  • Add beef cubes to the marinade. Ensure each piece is well coated.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.

Preparing the Skewers

  • If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.
  • Thread marinated beef cubes onto skewers, alternating with bell peppers and onions.

Grilling the Kebabs

  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  • Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 8 to 10 minutes, turning every couple of minutes.
  • Brush with reserved marinade while grilling for added flavor.
  • Ensure the kebabs are slightly pink in the center for the best flavor.
  • Remove from grill and let rest for a couple of minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve with sides like rice pilaf or a fresh salad. For a Mediterranean flavor, replace honey with extra lemon and add fresh herbs.
