Seasoning Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon oregano
  • ½ teaspoon table salt

Instructions

Preparation

  • Mix all the seasoning ingredients together in a bowl.
  • Store the mixture in an airtight container for later use.

Cooking

  • When you’re ready to cook, use one batch of seasoning for every pound of ground beef.
  • Brown the ground beef in a skillet and drain the excess fat.
  • Add one batch of seasoning and 1/3 cup of water to the beef.
  • Mix well and let it simmer over low heat until the excess water evaporates.

Serving

  • Serve the seasoned ground beef in taco shells or tortillas, and top with your favorite ingredients like shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, and salsa.

Notes

Store any leftover seasoning in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. This seasoning can last for several months. Adjust the spice by adding cayenne pepper or red chili flakes if you prefer more heat.
