- 1 lb flank steak or sirloin thinly sliced
- 2 –3 cups broccoli florets
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- ¼ cup water
- Cooked rice for serving (optional)
Make the sauce: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, sesame oil, water, garlic, and ginger.
Cook the beef: In a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat, heat oil. Add beef and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
Steam the broccoli: In the same skillet, add a splash of water and broccoli. Cover and steam for 2–3 minutes until tender-crisp.
Combine and simmer: Return beef to the skillet. Pour in sauce and cook for another 2–3 minutes, until sauce thickens and beef is cooked through.
Serve: Serve hot over steamed rice.
