Ingredients
  

For the filling

  • 24 ounces fresh or frozen blackberries
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • a dash salt
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

For the crumble topping

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 dashes salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Generously spray a 3-quart baking dish with non-stick pan spray.
  • In a medium-sized bowl, combine the blackberries with granulated sugar, flour, ground cinnamon, salt, and fresh lemon juice until the berries are coated.
  • Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

Crumble Topping

  • In another bowl, prepare the crumble topping by whisking together all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  • Incorporate the softened butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
  • Sprinkle the crumble topping over the blackberry mixture in the baking dish.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
  • Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. To store leftovers, let cool completely, cover tightly, and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven.
