Ingredients
  

  • 2 pie crusts store-bought or homemade
  • 4 cups fresh or frozen blackberries
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon optional
  • 1 tablespoon butter cut into small pieces
  • 1 egg for egg wash

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix blackberries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and cinnamon (if using).
  • Roll out and place one pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate.
  • Pour the blackberry mixture into the crust and dot with butter.
  • Cover with the second crust, crimp the edges to seal, and cut small slits for ventilation.
  • Brush the top crust with egg wash for a golden finish.
  • Bake for 45–50 minutes or until the crust is golden and filling is bubbling.
  • Let cool for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the filling to set.
