  • 2 Tablespoons Cajun seasoning (homemade or store-bought)
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt (omit if your seasoning blend contains salt)
  • cup freshly grated parmesan cheese (for best flavor)
  • 1 unit lemon (zest only)

Spices and seasonings

  • 3 Tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 1 Tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 Tablespoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil

Cooking Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a large skillet over low heat until frothy.
  • Stir in the heavy cream and Cajun seasoning, then taste and add salt as needed.
  • Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook on low for about 5 to 6 minutes.
  • Remove the pan from heat and add the lemon zest.
  • Gradually add the parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and smooth. Adjust salt to taste.
  • Add your cooked pasta to the pan and toss to coat or serve as desired.

Notes

For best flavor, use freshly grated parmesan cheese. Adjust the amount of Cajun seasoning based on your spice preference. Allow the sauce to simmer longer for a thicker consistency.
