  • 2 lb frozen hash browns You can use fresh potatoes as a substitute.
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup For a creamier texture, add extra.
  • 1 cup sour cream Additional sour cream can enhance creaminess.
  • 2 cups cooked ham, diced Alternatively, cooked bacon can be used.
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese Other cheese varieties like Monterey Jack or Swiss can also be used.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust according to personal preference.
  • Green onions for garnish Optional, can add freshness.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the frozen hash browns, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, diced ham, and half of the cheddar cheese.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste, then mix until well combined.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Top with the remaining cheddar cheese.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and golden on top.
  • Let it sit for a few minutes before serving.
  • Garnish with green onions if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze before baking. Thaw in the fridge overnight before baking.
