Ingredients
  

Casserole Base

  • 32 oz frozen tater tots
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup cooked, crumbled bacon
  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken
  • 1 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 cup sour cream

Spices

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Garnish

  • Chopped green onions (optional) For garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, ranch dressing, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until combined.

Assembly

  • In a greased 9x13 inch casserole dish, spread half of the frozen tater tots in an even layer.
  • Spoon the chicken mixture over the tater tots, spreading it evenly.
  • Sprinkle the cooked bacon over the chicken mixture, then top with the remaining tater tots.
  • Evenly sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, and garnish with chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

For extra crunch, cook the tater tots a little before adding to the casserole. You can use store-bought rotisserie chicken to save time. Feel free to add other veggies like corn or bell peppers for added nutrition. You can switch up the cheeses by using Monterey Jack or pepper jack for a spicy kick. You can also replace ranch dressing with blue cheese dressing for a different flavor profile.
