Ingredients
  

Chicken Marinade

  • 1 lb chicken breast Cut into chunky pieces
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt Can substitute with plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic Minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger Minced
  • 1 tbsp cumin Ground
  • 1 tbsp coriander Ground

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 large onion Chopped
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 1 tbsp garam masala Must be included for authentic flavor
  • 1 cup cream or coconut milk For a dairy-free version, use coconut milk

Instructions
 

Marinating the Chicken

  • Cut chicken into chunky pieces and mix with Greek yogurt, salt, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, cumin, and coriander.
  • Let marinate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.

Grilling the Chicken

  • Grill the marinated chicken until golden and slightly charred. If no grill, use a stovetop pan.

Making the Sauce

  • In a pan, sauté onion, tomato puree, and garam masala until aromatic.
  • Add cream or coconut milk and stir until well mixed.
  • Add grilled chicken pieces and let simmer for 5-10 minutes.

Notes

Taste as you go to adjust spice levels. Serve with basmati rice or naan bread. Can provide cool cucumber raita for heat relief.
