- 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup creamy peanut butter smooth coats evenly
- ¼ cup unsalted butter use real butter, not margarine
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar plus 1/2 cup more
Cooking
Measure. Put the cereal in a very large bowl so there is room to toss without crushing the pieces.
Melt. Heat the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter in a microwave safe bowl in 30 second intervals, stirring each time, until smooth. Stir in the vanilla.
Coat. Pour the warm mixture over the cereal and fold gently with a spatula until every piece is covered.
Dust. Move half of the coated cereal to a large zip bag with half of the powdered sugar, seal, and shake. Repeat with the rest.
Cool. Spread the mix on a parchment lined sheet and let it set for 15 minutes before serving.
Substitutions: Use sunflower seed butter in place of peanut butter for a peanut free version.
Tips: Let the chocolate mixture cool for 1 minute before pouring so it does not melt the cereal.
Storage: Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 3 months.
