Ingredients
  

For the Cheese Sauce

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper

For the Lasagna

  • 12 pieces lasagna noodles Cook according to package instructions.
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 lb ground beef Cook until browned.
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and gradually add the milk, stirring until the mixture thickens. Season with salt and pepper.
  • In a separate pan, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain the excess fat and stir in the marinara sauce and Italian seasoning.
  • Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente.

Assembly

  • In a baking dish, spread a layer of beef sauce, then noodles, ricotta cheese, and a layer of mozzarella. Repeat the layers, finishing with noodles and sauce, topping with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.

Baking

  • Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Let it sit for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve Classic Beef Lasagna hot out of the oven, cutting it into squares or rectangles for easy serving. Store leftovers tightly covered in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days or freeze for up to three months.
