Main Ingredients
- 3 oz bright tequila 2 shots
- 1 ½ oz triple sec 1 shot
- 4-6 fresh limes about 1/2 cup juice
- 2 cup ice
- 1 tbsp agave nectar optional, to taste
- 1 tbsp coarse salt for rimming
Cooking
Squeeze. Juice the limes directly over the ice in a blender jar. Microwave firm limes for 15 seconds first if needed.
Pour. Add the tequila, triple sec, and agave if using.
Blend. Process on high for 30 to 45 seconds until smooth and slushy.
Rim. Moisten the glass rims with lime and dip in coarse salt.
Serve. Pour into the glasses and top with a lime wheel.
Substitutions: Use agave nectar or simple syrup for a sweeter drink. Skip the liquor and add orange juice for a mocktail.
Tips: Use a strong blender and chilled glasses. Add more ice for a thicker texture.
Storage: Refrigerate leftovers in a sealed container for up to 24 hours and blend again with fresh ice.
