Ingredients
  

Peach filling

  • 6 to 8 pieces ripe peaches, peeled and sliced About 6 cups
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar

Batter

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches with granulated sugar and brown sugar. Let them sit for about 15 minutes.
  • In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into a greased baking dish, then top with the peach mixture.
  • Bake for 35-45 minutes, until the top is golden brown and bubbly.

Notes

Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days, or freeze for longer storage.
