Ingredients
  

For the Cookie Cake

  • ¾ cup butter (softened)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 pieces eggs
  • teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • cups chocolate chips

For the Frosting

  • ¼ cup butter (softened)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (divided) 1 cup for mixing, 1 cup for blending
  • cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • colored sprinkles (optional)

Instructions
 

Preparation for Cookie Cake

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • In another bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Spread the dough into a greased round cake pan.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden and a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
  • Let it cool completely while you make the frosting.

Frosting Instructions

  • In a bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
  • Gradually add 1 cup of powdered sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and milk. Mix until smooth.
  • Add the remaining powdered sugar and blend until fluffy.
  • Once the cookie cake is cooled, spread the frosting over the top and sprinkle with colored sprinkles.

Notes

Slice the cookie cake into wedges and serve it on plates. It tastes great on its own or with a scoop of ice cream on the side. You can also add extra chocolate chips or more sprinkles for decoration. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or refrigerate for up to a week.
