Ingredients
  

For the Sauce

  • 4 cloves garlic Minced; use fresh for a stronger flavor.
  • 2 tbsp butter Use unsalted for better control over seasoning.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Alternatively, use half-and-half for a lighter sauce.
  • 1 tsp salt Adjust to taste.
  • ½ tsp black pepper Freshly cracked for best flavor.
  • 1 tbsp fresh herbs Optional; parsley or chives add freshness.

For the Steak

  • 2 steaks ribeye or filet mignon Choose well-marbled cuts for the best flavor.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil For searing the steak.
  • 1 tsp salt For seasoning the steak.
  • ½ tsp black pepper For seasoning the steak.

Instructions
 

Prepare the Steak

  • Allow steaks to come to room temperature for 30 minutes.
  • Season steaks with salt and black pepper on both sides.

Cook the Steak

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the steaks and sear for 4-6 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
  • Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes.

Make the Garlic Sauce

  • In the same skillet, lower the heat and add butter and minced garlic.
  • Sauté until garlic is fragrant and soft, about 1-2 minutes.
  • Pour in the heavy cream, stir well, and bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Add salt, pepper, and optional herbs, stirring to combine. Let it thicken slightly.

Combine and Serve

  • Place steak on a plate, pour the creamy garlic sauce over the top, and serve.
  • Garnish with additional herbs if desired.

Notes

For a low-carb version, use Greek yogurt instead of cream. Pair with roasted vegetables or mashed potatoes.
