Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 16 oz extra-firm tofu drained and pressed
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ⅓ cup unsweetened soy milk
  • 1 ¼ cup panko bread crumbs or crushed buttery crackers
  • ¾ cup buffalo sauce
  • parsley optional, for garnish

Instructions

Cooking

  • Press the tofu for at least 30 minutes, then cut it into bite-size cubes about 1 inch wide.
  • Place the cubes in a resealable bag with the cornstarch and garlic powder and shake gently until coated.
  • Dip each cube in the soy milk, shake off the excess, then coat in panko bread crumbs or crushed crackers.
  • Air fryer: spread the bites in a single layer and air fry at 400 degrees F for 12 to 14 minutes, flipping halfway, until brown and crispy.
  • Dip the cooked bites in the buffalo sauce with a fork, drain off the excess, return them to the basket and cook for about 5 more minutes until crispy again.
  • Oven: heat the oven to 425 degrees F, bake the bites on a parchment-lined sheet for 20 to 25 minutes, flipping halfway, then dip in buffalo sauce and bake 10 to 15 minutes more until crispy.
  • Serve hot with ranch, vegan ranch or blue cheese dressing and a sprinkle of parsley.

Notes

Press the tofu well for the crispiest bites. Use mild or hot buffalo sauce to adjust the heat. Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours and eat within 3 to 4 days. Nutrition values are an estimate.
