Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 14 oz extra-firm tofu 1 block, pressed 15 to 30 minutes
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped, for garnish
  • ¼ cup sweet chili sauce for dipping

Instructions

Cooking

  • Drain the tofu, wrap it in a clean towel, and press under something heavy for 15 to 30 minutes. Cut into 3/4-inch cubes.
  • Toss the tofu gently with the soy sauce and sesame oil in a large bowl.
  • Mix the cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle over the tofu and toss until evenly coated, shaking off any loose excess.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the tofu in a single layer, in batches if needed.
  • Cook for 15 to 18 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden and crisp.
  • Sprinkle with the parsley and serve immediately with the sweet chili sauce.

Notes

Nutrition values are an estimate per serving, based on 4 servings and including the sweet chili sauce. Use extra-firm tofu for the crispiest result. Use tamari to make it gluten-free. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days and re-crisp in the air fryer at 375°F for 6 to 8 minutes.
