- 1 lb ground beef or lamb
- 1 small onion diced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 cup frozen peas and carrots
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ cup beef broth
- 4 medium potatoes peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter melted
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ¼ teaspoon paprika
- Optional: shredded cheddar cheese for topping
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Cook filling: In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Add diced onion and garlic, cooking until softened.
Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, pepper, and beef broth. Add frozen peas and carrots. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened.
