Ingredients

Basic Ingredients

  • 1 cup Warm Water Used to activate the yeast.
  • 1.5 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast Leavens the bread.
  • 2.5 cups Bread Flour Provides structure and texture.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adds flavor and controls fermentation.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather the ingredients: flour, water, yeast, salt, and sugar.
  • In a big bowl, mix the dry ingredients first.
  • Slowly add warm water while stirring until a dough forms.
  • Knead lightly with a few gentle folds.
  • Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour.
  • Grease the crockpot with oil or cooking spray.
  • Once the dough has doubled, press it down gently, shape it to fit the crockpot, and let it rise again for 30 minutes.

Cooking

  • Set the crockpot on high and cover it. Cook for 2 to 3 hours.
  • Check if the bread is done by inserting a toothpick; it should come out clean.
  • Remove the bread from the crockpot and cool it on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

You can add seeds, herbs, or dried fruits to your dough for variety. For a crispy crust, consider broiling the bread briefly after it has baked.
