  • 4 chicken breasts
  • ½ cup butter melted
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 cup heavy cream added during the last 30 minutes
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • black pepper to taste
  • cooked rice or crusty bread for serving

Cooking

  • Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
  • Mix the melted butter, Cajun seasoning, onion, and garlic in a bowl.
  • Pour the butter mixture over the chicken and season with black pepper.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours or on high for 2 to 3 hours, until the chicken reaches 165 degrees F.
  • During the last 30 minutes, stir in the heavy cream.
  • Shred or slice the chicken and stir it into the sauce.
  • Serve over rice or with crusty bread.

Notes

Use smoked Cajun seasoning or add hot sauce for extra flavor. Cajun seasoning is salty, so no extra salt is added. Do not reheat leftovers in the slow cooker. Nutrition is an estimate and excludes rice.
