  • 4 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 box (6 ounces) stuffing mix
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup chicken broth Use homemade for extra flavor.
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup celery, chopped
  • ½ cup onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Adjust according to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional) Adds extra flavor if desired.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, milk, chopped celery, chopped onion, garlic powder, black pepper, and thyme. Mix well.
  • Add the stuffing mix to the chicken mixture and stir until just combined.
  • Transfer the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  • If desired, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.

Baking

  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the casserole is heated through and the top is golden brown.

Notes

Serve hot with a fresh salad or steamed vegetables. For storage, cover leftovers tightly and refrigerate for up to three days or freeze for about two months.
