  • 0.5 cup light brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp apple pie spice

Pie Crust and Topping

  • 1 piece pie crust Store-bought or homemade
  • 0.5 cup light brown sugar For topping
  • 0.5 cup white granulated sugar For topping
  • 1 tsp apple pie spice For topping
  • 0.75 cup all-purpose flour For topping
  • 5 tbsp butter Melted

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, mix the sliced apples with light brown sugar, white granulated sugar, and apple pie spice. Set aside to allow the apples to release their natural juices.

Making the Topping

  • In another bowl, combine light brown sugar, white granulated sugar, apple pie spice, and all-purpose flour. Pour in the melted butter and mix until crumbles form.

Preparing the Crust

  • Place the pie crust in a pie dish according to instructions, if store-bought. If homemade, roll out the dough and fit it into the pie dish.

Assembly and Baking

  • Pour the apple filling into the crust and spread it evenly. Sprinkle the topping over the apples.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 45-50 minutes, or until the apples are soft and the topping is golden brown.

Notes

Allow the pie to cool completely before storing. It can be kept at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
