Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 to 2 lbs cube steak
  • 1 can 10.5 oz cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch optional, for thickening
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: sliced onions or mushrooms for added flavor

Instructions
 

  • Prepare crockpot: Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker.
  • Layer ingredients: Place cube steaks in the bottom. In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup, onion soup mix, and beef broth. Pour over steaks.
  • Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or until meat is fork-tender.
  • Thicken gravy (optional): If desired, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons cold water and stir into the sauce. Cook on high for 15 minutes to thicken.
  • Serve: Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
