- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 packet 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 ⅓ cups warm water 110°F/45°C
- ¼ cup olive oil plus more for topping and pan
- Optional toppings: sea salt rosemary, garlic, cherry tomatoes, olives
In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
Knead dough by hand or with a mixer for about 5–7 minutes until smooth.
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1–2 hours or until doubled in size.
Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan with olive oil. Punch down the dough and press it evenly into the pan.
Cover and let rise again for 20–30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Dimple the dough with your fingers and drizzle generously with olive oil. Add toppings as desired.
Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.
