  • 1 cup sugar Granulated white sugar.
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract Adds flavor to the toffee.
  • ¼ teaspoon salt Enhances flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  • Spread the raw almonds in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake them in the oven until they are toasted, about 10 minutes. Once done, set them aside.

Cooking

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the butter, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt over medium heat.
  • Cook the mixture while whisking constantly until the butter melts and the mixture turns almond brown in color, about 10-15 minutes.
  • Quickly spread the hot toffee mixture evenly over the toasted almonds.
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips on top. After 1-2 minutes, use a spatula to spread the melted chocolate into an even layer until smooth.
  • Then, sprinkle the chopped pecans over the top.

Cooling

  • Allow the toffee to cool completely for about 2 hours. Once it’s cool, break it into pieces for serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for about two weeks. For longer storage, refrigerate but let it come back to room temperature before serving.
