Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup Long-Grain White Rice For fluffy rice, use Jasmine or regular long-grain.
  • 2 cups Chicken Broth or Stock Adds rich flavor.
  • 1 cup Tomato Sauce Provides color and tanginess.
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder For a kick of flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin Adds earthy warmth.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Salt Enhances overall flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Rinse the rice under cold water to remove extra starch until water runs clear.
  • In a pan, heat oil over medium heat and toast the rice until golden, stirring constantly.

Cooking

  • Add the tomato sauce, chili powder, ground cumin, and garlic salt to the toasted rice. Mix well.
  • Pour in the chicken broth and bring the mixture to a boil.
  • Lower the heat to a simmer, cover the pan, and let it cook for about 25 minutes without lifting the lid.
  • Turn off the heat and let the rice rest covered for 5 minutes.
  • Fluff the rice gently with a fork before serving.

Notes

For variations, you can add peas, green chiles, or lime juice for extra flavor. Using brown rice is a healthier alternative but requires longer cooking time.
