Ingredients
  

For the Dough

  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour Can substitute with whole wheat flour for a healthier option.
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 tsp)
  • 1 ¼ cups warm water (110°F) Make sure the water is warm to activate the yeast.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil For brushing on calzones.
  • 1 tsp salt

For the Filling

  • pepperoni slices Pepperoni slices Amount to taste.
  • melted cup mozzarella cheese Melted mozzarella cheese.

For Serving

  • Pizza sauce For dipping.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine warm water and yeast; let it foam for 5 minutes.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
  • Stir in the yeast mixture and knead until a smooth dough forms.
  • Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Roll out the dough into circles, add pepperoni and cheese to one half, then fold and seal.
  • Place calzones on a baking sheet, brush with olive oil, and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.

Notes

Make it your own by adding toppings like mushrooms, onions, or bell peppers. Don't overfill the calzones to prevent them from bursting. Seal edges tightly.
