Ingredients
  

For the filling

  • 2 cups Cabbage, finely chopped Use fresh cabbage for better texture.
  • 1 cup Carrots, grated Freshly grated for best flavor.
  • ½ cup Green onions, chopped Adds additional flavor.
  • 1 cup Cooked shrimp or chicken (optional) Can be omitted for a vegetarian version.
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced Enhances the savory flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, grated Adds warmth and spice.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Pepper

For frying

  • 1 package Egg roll wrappers Easily found in grocery stores.
  • Oil for frying Oil for frying Use vegetable or canola oil for frying.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine cabbage, carrots, green onions, shrimp or chicken (if using), soy sauce, garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  • Place an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface and spoon 2 tablespoons of the filling onto the center.
  • Fold the sides over the filling and roll tightly. Seal the edge with a little water.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
  • Fry the egg rolls until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  • Drain on paper towels and serve hot with dipping sauce.

Notes

Egg rolls are best served hot and crispy. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in an oven or air fryer for best results. Use fresh vegetables for improved texture and flavor. Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying.
