Dough Ingredients

  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water Make sure the water is warm, not hot.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Filling Ingredients

  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.5 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni
  • Italian seasoning (optional)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it is smooth.
  • Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Assembly

  • Roll out the dough and cut it into strips.
  • Spread pizza sauce on each strip, then top with the cheeses and pepperoni.
  • Roll each strip into knots.
  • Place the knots on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Baking

  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until they are golden brown.
  • Let them cool slightly and serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

Make sure your water is warm to activate the yeast properly. Experiment with different cheeses or add your favorite toppings. For an extra crispy crust, brush the knots with olive oil before baking.
