Ingredients
  

For the Dough

  • 1 cup water
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ΒΌ teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For Frying and Serving

  • Oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a saucepan, combine water and unsalted butter and bring to a boil.
  • Stir in flour and salt until the mixture forms a ball.
  • Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  • Stir in eggs one at a time until fully incorporated. Add vanilla extract.

Frying

  • Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot.
  • Pipe the dough in circular shapes into the hot oil.
  • Fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  • Remove and drain on paper towels.
  • Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Serve fresh and warm, best enjoyed with coffee or tea. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days or freeze for a month. Use a piping bag for easy shaping and ensure the oil is hot enough before frying.
