  • 1 large sweet onion caramelized slowly
  • 3 tbsp butter melted
  • 1 tsp garlic powder for topping
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce for topping
  • 1 cup beef au jus from packet or homemade, warm for dipping
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • to taste salt and pepper optional horseradish cream

Instructions

Preparation

  • Heat olive oil in skillet over medium-low. Add sliced onions and a pinch of salt; cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring, until deep golden and sweet.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.

Assembly

  • Without separating the rolls, slice the entire pack in half horizontally. Place the bottom half in a 9x13 dish.
  • Layer half of the cheese, all of the roast beef (folded fluffy, not flat), caramelized onions, and the remaining cheese.
  • Place the top buns on.

Baking

  • Mix melted butter, garlic powder, and Worcestershire. Brush generously over the tops of the rolls.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 10 minutes, then uncover for an additional 3-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden.
  • Heat the au jus in a small saucepan while the sliders bake.

Serving

  • Cut the sliders into 12 pieces with a serrated knife. Serve immediately on a platter with warm au jus in a bowl for dipping.

Notes

Make ahead of time by assembling sliders up to 6 hours before baking. Perfect for parties. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2-3 days. Reheat in the oven to maintain texture.
