  • 5 slices bacon, chopped Chopped into small pieces
  • ½ cup yellow onions, chopped Choose medium-sized onions
  • 3 cups cabbage, cut into thin strips Ensure cabbage is cut thin for even cooking
  • 10-12 pieces shrimp, tail off & deveined Fresh shrimp preferred
  • 1 link kielbasa or smoked sausage, cut into 1/2 inch pieces Any preferred sausage may be used
  • 1 tbsp olive oil For cooking
  • 1 tsp seafood seasoning
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

Preparation

  • In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy.
  • Add the chopped onions and cook until they are translucent.
  • Stir in the cabbage strips and cook until they begin to soften.
  • Add the shrimp and sausage to the pan.
  • Season the mixture with seafood seasoning and smoked paprika, stirring well.
  • Cook until the shrimp are pink and cooked through, and the cabbage is tender.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Thaw and reheat before serving. You can customize the dish with other vegetables or make a vegetarian version by omitting meat.
