Ingredients

For the Sloppy Joe Filling

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 10.75 ounce can condensed tomato soup
  • 2 Tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

For Serving

  • 8 slices frozen garlic bread Adjust baking according to package instructions.
  • 1 cup shredded colby jack cheese Can substitute with other cheese varieties.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven according to the package instructions on the garlic bread.
  • In a medium-sized skillet, brown the ground beef. Drain the fat from the meat and return it to the skillet.
  • Meanwhile, bake the garlic bread as directed on the package.

Cooking

  • Add the condensed tomato soup, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, onion powder, salt, and garlic powder to the ground beef. Bring to a simmer and let it simmer for a few minutes.
  • Once the garlic bread is ready, carefully remove it from the oven. Top each slice of garlic bread with about ¼-⅓ cup of the sloppy joe filling.
  • Sprinkle each piece with 2 tablespoons of shredded colby jack cheese. Return to the oven and heat just long enough to melt the cheese.

Notes

These Sloppy Joes can be served warm right out of the oven. For best results, store the sloppy joe filling and garlic bread separately to keep the bread crispy.
