- 8 oz pasta spaghetti, fettuccine, or egg noodles
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 –4 cloves garlic minced
- ¼ teaspoon salt or to taste
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese optional
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley optional
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In the same pot or a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
Return cooked pasta to the pot or add it to the skillet. Toss well to coat with the garlic butter.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Optional: sprinkle with grated Parmesan and chopped parsley.
Serve immediately while hot.
