  • 2 pieces ribeye steaks At least one inch thick and brought to room temperature
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Preparation

  • Remove ribeye steaks from the refrigerator and let them sit out for 30 minutes to bring to room temperature.
  • Sprinkle salt and pepper on both sides of the steaks.

Grilling

  • Preheat the grill to a high heat.
  • Place the ribeye steaks on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes without flipping.
  • Flip the steaks only once and cook for another 4-5 minutes, until desired doneness is reached.
  • Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for at least 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For best results, use an instant-read thermometer to check the doneness—aim for 130°F for medium rare. Avoid using a marinade as ribeye has strong flavor on its own. If you have leftovers, slice thinly for sandwiches.
