  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar To balance the savory flavor
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch For thickening the sauce
  • 1 cup water To mix with the sauce
  • 2 cloves minced garlic For seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger Minced, for extra flavor
  • 2 teaspoons rice vinegar For sauce balance
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds For garnish

Instructions
 

Preparing Ingredients

  • Blanch broccoli in boiling water for 2-3 minutes, then transfer to an ice bath.
  • Dice garlic and ginger, and chop other vegetables uniformly.

Cooking the Beef

  • Heat oil in a stainless-steel skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook until browned (about 5 minutes).
  • Stir in minced garlic and ginger, cooking until fragrant.

Making the Sauce

  • In a bowl, whisk together water, soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, and rice vinegar.
  • Pour the sauce into the skillet once beef is browned.

Cooking the Broccoli

  • Add broccoli to the skillet, cover, and steam for 4 minutes until tender-crisp.

Combining and Serving

  • Stir everything together until well combined.
  • Serve over steamed rice and garnish with sesame seeds.

Notes

This meal can be stored for up to 3 days in the fridge. Customize by adding different vegetables or adjusting the spice level.
