Meat

  • 1 pound Ground Beef Make sure to cook until fully browned for best flavor.

Sauce

  • ¼ cup Butter
  • ¼ cup Flour Whisk continuously to avoid lumps.
  • 1 cup Beef Broth Add more if sauce is too thick.
  • 1 ¼ cup Milk Low-fat or dairy-free options can be used.
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ cup Sour Cream Gently stir in for a tangy flavor.

Preparation

  • Bring a pot of water to boil and cook the egg noodles according to the package directions. Once cooked, set them aside.
  • While the noodles are cooking, heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up, until fully browned, about 6-8 minutes. Drain any excess fat and transfer the beef to a plate.

Sauce Preparation

  • In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Once melted, add the flour and whisk continuously for about 2 minutes to create a roux.
  • Gradually pour in the beef broth, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Continue whisking until the sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Slowly whisk in the milk, stirring until the sauce thickens again, about 5-7 minutes. The sauce should be smooth and creamy.
  • Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt, ensuring even distribution.

Combine Ingredients

  • Reduce heat to low and add the cooked egg noodles and browned ground beef to the skillet. Stir until combined and heated through.
  • Gently stir in the sour cream until fully incorporated.

Serving

  • Serve hot with your favorite vegetable or garlic toast. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat on low heat or in the microwave.
