Ingredients
  

For the Noodles

  • 14 oz Hokkien noodles Can use fresh or frozen, but follow package instructions for dried noodles.

For the Stir-Fry

  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil For cooking.
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 medium Bell pepper (sliced)
  • 1 medium Carrot (julienned)
  • 3 stalks Green onions (sliced) For garnish.
  • 3 tbsp Soy sauce For seasoning.
  • 2 tbsp Oyster sauce For seasoning.
  • 8 oz Protein of your choice (chicken, shrimp, tofu) Cut into bite-sized pieces.

Preparation

  • Soak the hokkien noodles in warm water for about 30 minutes until they are tender.
  • Rinse the noodles in cold water and drain to prevent sticking.
  • Chop your chosen vegetables, ensuring a mix of textures and colors for visual appeal.
  • Prepare proteins by slicing them into bite-sized pieces.

Cooking

  • Heat your wok over medium-high heat until it starts to smoke slightly.
  • Add vegetable oil to the hot wok, swirling it around to coat the surface.
  • Add proteins to the wok and cook until browned and fully cooked.
  • Add sliced bell pepper and julienned carrot; stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp.
  • Add the soaked hokkien noodles along with soy sauce and oyster sauce, stirring to combine.
  • Cook for another 2-3 minutes to allow flavors to meld and noodles to heat through.
  • Top with green onions and serve hot.

Notes

Try vegetarian versions with tofu and a mix of fresh vegetables for a filling dish. Add chicken or seafood for more protein options. Serve with Asian-inspired sides or dipping sauces.
