  • 1 cup warm water Around 110°F to activate yeast.
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour You can substitute with bread flour.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Enhances flavor.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, mix yeast, sugar, olive oil, and warm water. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  • In another bowl, combine flour and salt. Gradually add this dry mix to the yeast mixture, stirring until dough forms.
  • Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. If sticky, add a bit more flour.
  • Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Once risen, gently punch down to release air. Shape the dough into desired forms (loaves, rolls, or pizza crusts) and let rest.

Notes

Try adding herbs or cheeses to customize your bread. Dough can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
