Dry Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • ¾ cup white granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar Packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Prepare three baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Measure out the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a bowl and set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

Baking

  • Scoop dough into balls and place on the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  • Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

For chewy cookies, don't over-bake them. For optimal flavor and texture, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
