  • 1 cup pecans, toasted Lightly toasted for added flavor
  • 1 cup caramel, store-bought or homemade Ensure it's soft enough to spoon easily
  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate, melted Can substitute with dark or white chocolate

Preparation

  • Arrange the toasted pecans in clusters of four on a parchment-lined baking sheet, forming a star shape.
  • Spoon caramel over each pecan cluster, covering the nuts but not dripping too much beyond the edges.
  • Let the caramel set slightly, then spoon melted chocolate over the caramel, ensuring it covers the caramel and touches the base to encase the pecans.
  • Allow the chocolate to harden completely at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
  • Once set, peel the turtles off the parchment and store in an airtight container.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature. They can also be refrigerated for a firmer texture. Let them come to room temperature before serving for the best flavor.
