  • ¼ cup soy sauce Adjust amount to taste.
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch To thicken the sauce.
  • 2 tablespoons water To create a slurry.
  • Optional: Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish

Cooking

  • Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  • In a separate small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken thighs and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, until browned and cooked through.
  • Pour the honey garlic sauce over the chicken in the skillet. Bring to a simmer.
  • Stir the cornstarch slurry and add it to the simmering sauce. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
  • Serve the chicken thighs with the thickened sauce spooned over. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.

Notes

Best served hot with steamed rice or noodles to soak up the delicious sauce. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
