Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce Use low-sodium for a less salty glaze.
  • ¼ cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes Optional.
  • sliced green onions and sesame seeds For garnish.

Instructions

Cooking

  • Pat the chicken dry and toss with the cornstarch, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  • Whisk the honey, soy sauce, chicken broth, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl.
  • Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken in a single layer (cook in two batches if crowded) and sear 5 to 6 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden on all sides.
  • Reduce the heat to medium, add the garlic, and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Pour in the sauce and simmer 2 to 3 minutes, stirring, until the glaze thickens and coats the chicken. Make sure the largest piece reaches 165°F.
  • Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds and serve hot.
